#2 IPPOLITO CAFFI 1809 – 1866. Between Venice and the Orient

Caffi, born in Belluno but Venetian by choice, was an extraordinary painter and reporter, a restless observer of society and a convinced patriot.

Now, to commemorate the coincidence of this double anniversary, the complete, impressive collection of his paintings, the property of the Venice Civic Museums Foundation, is to be shown after fifty years, in a major exhibition located at the Correr Museum in St Mark’s Square.

#3 Helmut Newton. White Women / Sleepless Nights / Big Nudes

From 7 April to 7 August 2016, the exhibition hosted by Casa dei Tre Oci will show for the first time in Venice more than 200 images of Helmut Newton, one of the most important and celebrated photographers of the twentieth century.
This is the result of a project launched in 2011 by the will of June Newton, widow of the great photographer. The exhibition gathers images of White Women, Sleepless Nights and Big Nudes, the first three books of Newton published at the end of the ’70s, now considered legendary and unique volumes treated by the same Newton.
